Noodle War
Inaugural Noodle Tasting Tournament
Courageous and Hungry Students of ASU
The Asia Center at ASU cordially invites you to participate in our inaugural event of the lunar new year: Noodle Wars, a chance to reconnect with friends, demonstrate your knowledge of Asian cuisines, and sample a variety of delicious noodles from all over the globe. Register via the link below to take part in a tournament-style competition in which your team will taste and identify noodles from different regions in East, and Southeast Asia; answer a variety of noodle- and culture-related trivia; and compete for a chance at noodle immortality by being crowned Noodle Champion of Arizona State University. Competition is capped at the first 40 students to enroll, but no one will leave the event hungry. You’re welcome to register as an individual, or as part of a team of five participants.
Participants will compete in teams of five, rotating through three rounds of tasting and identification:
Round 1: Match packaged ramen noodles to their region of origin while identifying noodle types and answer trivia questions.
Round 2: Taste and identify different styles of Japanese noodles.
Final Round: Put your noodle expertise to the test by identifying popular ramen brands.
This event is designed to be interactive, social, and educational — no prior noodle knowledge required, just curiosity and a willingness to taste!
Winning teams may receive bragging rights and small prizes.
